At Thursday’s pre-event press conference at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France in Le Mans, Repsol Honda Team’s Casey Stoner announced his retirement at the end of the 2012 MotoGP™ season, at the same time that Valentino Rossi announced a further two years in the sport.

Valentino Rossi confirmed on Thursday that he would ride in the MotoGP™ World Championship for at least two more years.
